Mini facelift (short scar facelift) is a common surgical procedure that is popular among both men and women. It is a minimal incision facelift procedure with a speedy recovery!

What is a mini facelift?

Also known as a “weekend lift,” the mini facelift is designed to address mild skin laxity and jowls along the lower portion of the face and neck. Because it is less intensive than a traditional facelift, the incisions are small and discreetly placed around the ears.

Patients who undergo this procedure enjoy:

  • A naturally refreshed appearance
  • Firmer, more youthful skin along the jaw and neck
  • A more defined jawline

The procedure

To begin your mini facelift in Marina del Rey, Dr. Macias will create incisions around the ears. Through those openings, he will gently pull your facial tissue upward. This process will highlight the natural beauty of your bone structure, while minimizing the appearance of jowls, wrinkles and lax skin.

Once Dr. Macias has created a youthful and more defined facial contour, he will close the incisions with sutures and you will be able to return home to begin the healing process.

Recovery

The recovery period for a mini facelift in Santa Monica is approximately two weeks. All sutures will be removed within seven to ten days. Most patients have very little to no bruising, though some mild swelling and soreness may persist for up to two weeks.

Am I a candidate?

The ideal candidate for a mini facelift is a man or woman who has noticed a loss of youthful definition along the jawline and wants to tighten and lift the area. Most of our patients are between the ages of 30 and 70, though younger or older individuals may be considered candidates as well.

FAQ Mini Facelift

How much does a mini facelift cost?

Your personal investment will vary depending on the experience of your surgeon and your location. Contact Aesthetic MdR to set up your personalized consultation where you can find out the cost for a mini facelift in Santa Monica.

Do I need a mini facelift or a traditional facelift?

The traditional, full facelift is designed for more advanced signs of facial aging. Mini facelift patients tend to be younger and want to correct relatively mild skin laxity and sagging.

What kind of anesthesia is used?

Your mini facelift can be done under local anesthesia and sedation, or general anesthesia. During your initial consultation at our Marina del Rey office, we will review the options and help you determine which one is in your best interest.

Will there be scars?

Although there may be slight scarring after a mini facelift, the incisions will be small and mostly hidden. Most of your scarring should fade over time.

What are the risks?

Like all cosmetic surgeries, a mini facelift does come with certain risks. The most common risks of the procedure include:

  • Hematoma
  • Scarring
  • Nerve injury
  • Anesthesia issues

  • Unsatisfactory results
