Mini Facelift

The traditional, full facelift is designed for more advanced signs of facial aging. Mini facelift patients tend to be younger and want to correct relatively mild skin laxity and sagging.

On average, a mini facelift procedure will take between 2 and 3 hours.

Although slight scarring may occur after a mini facelift, the incisions will be small and mostly hidden. Most of your scarring should fade over time.

Your mini facelift can be performed under local anesthesia and sedation or general anesthesia. During your initial consultation at our Marina del Rey office, we will review the options and help you determine which one is best for you.

Thanks to local anesthesia and sedation or general anesthesia during the procedure, you won’t feel a thing while Dr. Macias and his team of surgical experts perform your surgery. Afterward, any mild discomfort can typically be managed with over-the-counter pain medication or a short course of prescription medication. Patients often describe the sensation as tightness or soreness rather than true pain.

First, you’ll have your initial consultation at Aesthetic MdR in the Los Angeles area. Then, you’ll have a pre-op appointment to discuss details and receive your pre-op instructions. After surgery, you’ll return for follow-up visits to monitor your healing and have any sutures removed. Additional visits may be recommended if you decide to pair your mini facelift with other aesthetic procedures, such as skin resurfacing or injectable treatments.

You’ll start seeing noticeable improvements as early as one to two weeks after your mini facelift. Swelling and bruising will gradually subside, revealing firmer contours and smoother skin around your jawline and neck. Final results will continue to develop over the next few months as your tissues settle and the incisions heal. By the three-month mark, most patients are enjoying their full results—and the compliments that come with them.

Dr. Macias often recommends lip lift, earlobe reduction, eyelid surgery, and fat grafting in addition to the mini facelift, depending on the patient’s needs and desires. Laser treatments are often performed after the recovery period to enhance the color and texture of the skin, resulting in beautiful, well-rounded outcomes.

Potential risks include bleeding, infection, scarring, nerve injury, or asymmetry. However, these complications are rare and often preventable with proper pre- and post-operative care.
